I took out four DVDs from the library today after work. They are all on AFI's Top 100 Movies list. They are: "Citizen Kane" (I saw this about 5 years ago but since it's the #1 movie, I'll see it again), "Gold Rush", "Unforgiven", and "Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid".
After I watched the show on Wednesday, I said that of the movies I have yet to see, I would watch 2 or 3 Westerns. I'm not a fan of the genre and so I picked "Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid" because Paul Newman & Robert Redford are hot and "Unforgiven" because Clint Eastwood is as well. Hee Hee! The other will be "High Noon". A Western with Grace Kelly in it; gotta see that.
What I Thought:
"Gold Rush" (#58) - Good but not great. I saw "City Lights" (#11) and liked that so much better. I guess so did those people that voted. I want to see more of Charlie Chaplin's movies - "The Kid" as well as "Modern Times" (#78).
"Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid" (#73) - Again... Good but not great. I was expecting more. Nothing really happened.
"Citizen Kane" (#1) - 7/5 - Truly a great film.
"Unforgiven" (#68) - 7/11 - Very good. I liked it.
