Hingis defeats Kournikova ( both 13 years old)

The last 10 minutes in the SemiFinal match Martina Hingis won against Anna Kournikova in the 1994 Wimbledon Juniors. Martina went on to win in the Final. The two women commentators (Russian, I believe) never stop talking.
STFU already!
iPhone... Come and Get It

The iPhone goes on sale today at 6pm.
Per Apple, "iPhone, the revolutionary combination of a mobile phone, widescreen iPod, and Internet communications device..."
Apple iPhone Q & A
I would love to have one but $499 for the 4G and $599 for the 8G is way out of my price range. AT&T plans start at $59.99/month. Even that's too much for me. I pay $25.00 every 2 months or so.
Ahh, to dream.

The day began with rain. They got fourteen matches completed. Roger Federer, Andy Roddick and Martina Hingis won their matches. They are currently in a rain delay.
Centre Court is undergoing a renovation. They are adding a retractable roof. It definitely looks completely different without the partial roof that it used to have.
Cool... they are playing again. Serena Williams & Justine Henin are resuming their matches. They should both advance.
I don't know when Maria Sharapova plays her first match. It's either tomorrow or Wednesday.
Ciao for Now.

Adding More Green to the List
Posted by ImaVeggie at 7:50 PM
I took out four DVDs from the library today after work. They are all on AFI's Top 100 Movies list. They are: "Citizen Kane" (I saw this about 5 years ago but since it's the #1 movie, I'll see it again), "Gold Rush", "Unforgiven", and "Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid".
After I watched the show on Wednesday, I said that of the movies I have yet to see, I would watch 2 or 3 Westerns. I'm not a fan of the genre and so I picked "Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid" because Paul Newman & Robert Redford are hot and "Unforgiven" because Clint Eastwood is as well. Hee Hee! The other will be "High Noon". A Western with Grace Kelly in it; gotta see that.
What I Thought:
"Gold Rush" (#58) - Good but not great. I saw "City Lights" (#11) and liked that so much better. I guess so did those people that voted. I want to see more of Charlie Chaplin's movies - "The Kid" as well as "Modern Times" (#78).
"Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid" (#73) - Again... Good but not great. I was expecting more. Nothing really happened.
"Citizen Kane" (#1) - 7/5 - Truly a great film.
"Unforgiven" (#68) - 7/11 - Very good. I liked it.

Charamel, My Sweet Charamel
Posted by ImaVeggie at 10:15 AM
What is Charamel you may be asking. It is my favorite browser theme/skin. I had it on my MacMini for Firefox. I loved it. The color & the simplicity. It was no longer compatible with newer versions of Firefox. Until today... I found a way around it and now have it for Firefox and Thunderbird, the email program I use. I love it!

My Chico Bags
Posted by ImaVeggie at 11:35 AM
They arrived on Monday and I used them today when I went food shopping. A lady bagging her groceries next to me kept looking at them. The colors are awesome; well except for the green. It's too drab although it is lighter than this photo shows. They have a Lime Green on backorder and a Pale Green coming soon. Chico Bags.com
I am so psyched about them. The whole idea of them. They're way more convenient than bulky canvas bags. I have 2 in my sling bag and 3 in my car.

Got CFLs?

I do now!
CFL = Compact Fluorescent Light
I went to Wal-Mart and bought (2) 6 packs at $9.88 each. Great price. That's $1.65 a bulb. Sweet!
"If every American home replaced just one light bulb with an ENERGY STAR qualified bulb, we would save enough energy to light more than 3 million homes for a year, more than $600 million in annual energy costs, and prevent greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions of more than 800,000 cars."

P.S. - I am so looking forward to getting my five reusable bags. They should arrive by Tuesday. Yippee!!!!!

Plastic bags suck for the environment. I bought some reusable nylon ones online today. They're called ChicoBags. They were $5 each. Buy 4 get 1 free. So with shipping... 5 for $24.50.

Next week, I will be buying CFL Lightbulbs, probably from Walmart - 12 for $19.76. These are the longer ones. They have shorter ones but they are 4 for $16.88; not worth it to me.I also plan to by an aluminum water bottle. It costs $18.99. Sure it's a bit much, but it eliminates me buying plastic bottles which can leach chemicals into the water. It's from a company called Sigg.

Ciao for Now.

P.S. - I found "If You Want Me" on LimeWire. I'm so psyched! I think I listened to it about 6 times today.

I recorded "If You Want Me" by using the Audio Recorder on my laptop while listening to it online. Quite primitive, but I just had to find a way to get it on my iPod. I may go see the movie "Once" tonight. Maybe after seeing it, I will want to buy the album from iTunes.
I have to go to jury duty today. Hope all goes well.

"If You Want Me" sung by Marketa Irglova & Glen Hansard - from the Soundtrack of the movie "Once".
Link to the Website for the movie. They have streaming songs from the movie. The Soundtrack is available on iTunes but only the entire album; can't just buy one song. Bummer.

Maria Sharapova lost in her SemiFinal to Ana Ivanovic. Ana played very well and Maria... not so much. Her heart didn't seem all into it. Her fight wasn't there. Hey, everyone has bad days. After Ana won, I was so rooting for Jelena Jankovic to win over Justine Henin, but she didn't. Again, oh well. So on Saturday, I hope Ana starts off well like she did today. She was on fire!
I so do not want to go to my little cousin's (1st cousin, twice removed - my cousin's granddaughter) Communion Party on Saturday. It's going to be hot and I still don't know what I'm wearing. Plus my hair looks like crap. Biggest reason... Women's Final. Hello!! Sucks big time!
Ciao for Now.

Update: I played tennis for about 40 minutes. Felt great!

Women's SemiFinals at the French Open are tomorrow. Coverage on ESPN2 starts at 8am. I am so looking forward to it. Sorry Mack... no Teletubbies or Sesame Street for you. Hee Hee.
1st Match: Maria Sharapova (Russia) vs Ana Ivanovic (Serbia)
2nd Match: Justine Henin (Belgium) vs Jelena Jankovic (Serbia)
Yup... 2 Serbian players. Too cool! Not that I'm Serbian; I just think it's a wonderful thing. Plus Novak Djokovic, also Serbian, will play Rafael Nadal (Spain) in the Men's SemiFinals on Friday. Also in the Semi's are Roger Federer (Switzerland) against Nikolay Davydenko (Russia).
I love tennis!
Things That Make You Go Hmm...
Posted by ImaVeggie at 7:57 AM
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.
He said, "My son, the battle is between two Wolves inside us all."
One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which Wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."
PEACE
It does not mean to be in a place
where there is no noise, trouble or hard work
It means to be in the midst of those things
and still be calm in your heart
Courage is not the absence of fear
but rather,
the judgment that something else is more important than fear
